Senior Researcher, Economics Section Working For: Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UK Location: London Salary: Around £30,000 per annum. Full time post. Job Details: To assist the work of diplomats in the Economic Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. Job Responsibilities • Conducting short and long term research projects on various issues relating to international development, climate change, finance and economic issues. • Producing both extensive reports and short briefings on trends, expectations and policy. • Working with staff in DECC, DFID, HM Treasury, Cabinet Office and FCO as well as a number of think tanks on matters of interest to the UK and Korea. • Drafting speeches. • Organising delegations. • Arranging and briefing Korean diplomats ahead of their attendance at conferences and high level meetings. • Attending meetings and conferences hosted by FCO/DFID/DECC etc. Core Competencies • Knowledge of economics and UK government • Minimum 2:1 degree and a Masters in a relevant subject • Demonstrable administrative experience • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Clear spoken and written English • Flexible and patient approach to work • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment is desirable • Knowledge of the Korean language is not necessary to work in this post Closing Date: 18 September 2011 Interview/Start Dates: Interviews will commence shortly after the closing date of 18 September.
