테러의 위협이 영국을 거쳐 유럽 본토에까지 도달하면서 테러 예방에 대한 정부 당국의 대책에 귀추가 주목되고 있다.
내년도 예산의 경우 이미 연방 재정부에서 발표한 바 있으나 그 구체적인 사용처에 대해서는 각 부처에서 적극적으로 홍보하지 않는 이상 확인하기 어려운 것이 사실이다.
(사진: Bild지 전재) 연방 경찰의 경우 대 테러 업무의 선두에서 역할을 감당해야 하는 만큼 테러 대비를 위한 장비 및 인력 충원에도 관심이 집중되고 있는 상황이다.
정부가 내년도 연방 경찰의 예산으로 약 25억 3천 유로를 책정하였으며, 이는 올해 24억 유로보다 약 13억 유로 증액된 것이다.
임금 상승으로 인한 예산 증가분을 제외하고 대 테러 업무에 추가적으로 투자되는 금액은 주요 지하철 역사의 CCTV 증설에 180만 유로, 감시 시스템 운영을 위한 컴퓨터 장비에 280만 유로, 대 테러 활동에 필요한 특수차량 구입비에 2백만 유로를 투자할 것으로 알려졌다.
테러의 위협이 확산되지 않도록 정부와 연방 경찰이 적극적으로 대처해 나가야 하며 부처간 협력도 활발히 이루어져야 할 것으로 보인다.
