"Das Dritte Land“ wird mit Silber beim
Einheitspreis 2020 ausgezeichnet! Liebe Freund*innen von Keum Art Projects,
liebe Unterstützer*innen des „Dritten Landes“!
wir fühlen uns geehrt, euch/Ihnen mitzuteilen, dass „Das Dritte Land“ (Künstler: Han Seok Hyun, Kim Seung Hwoe) beim von der Bundeszentrale für Politische Bildung ausgelobten Einheitspreis 2020 mit Silber im Bereich Kultur ausgezeichnet wurde. Das war nur möglich durch eure/Ihre Unterstützung, die unseren Künstlergarten beim Online-Voting unter die besten 50 Projekte (von über 140!) gebracht hat. Am Ende hat eine prominent besetzte siebenköpfige Jury (u.a. mit dem Präsidenten der Bundeszentrale Thomas Krüger, der Schriftstellerin Olga Grjasnowa, der Autorin und Journalistin Jana Hensel) „Das Dritte Land“ für Silber nominiert.
Wir freuen uns wirklich sehr und bedanken uns bei allen, die von Anfang an unser Projekt begleitet und unterstützt haben.
Wir wollen kurz aus der Laudatio zitieren:
„Das dritte Land (...) in unmittelbarer Nähe der Berliner Mauer, da wo Deutschland einst getrennt war, und heute wiedervereint ist, führt uns den Schmerz und die Absurdität der Teilung dieses Landes (Korea) vor Augen. Nicht nur der Garten, auch die Geschichte seiner Entstehung ist sehr interessant, war es doch bisher praktisch unmöglich, Akteure aus Nord- und Südkorea zusammenzubringen, diesen Garten gemeinsam zu gestalten. Korea ist da noch ganz am Anfang. Der Garten zeigt uns, wie sehr wir uns freuen können, wie weit wir mit der Einheit des Landes gekommen sind. Er macht uns klar, dass wir die Einheit und Freiheit haben, die wir auch Korea wünschen (...)“
In der Tat sind wir Koreaner*innen noch am Anfang, aber wir hoffen nächstes Jahr ein Stück weiter zu kommen und uns mit Nordkoreaner*innen über die Pflanzen in unserem Garten und die Botanik unser Heimat austauschen zu können.
Wir freuen uns auf den Frühling 2021, der für euch/Sie viele Einladungen ins „Dritte Land“ bringen wird. Versprochen!

Dear friends of Keum Art Projects,
dear supporters of Das dritte Land
We are honoured to inform you that "Das dritte Land" (Artists: Han Seok Hyun, Kim Seung Hwoe) has been awarded silver in the field of culture at the Einheitspreis 2020 (Unification Award 2020), which is initiated by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für die politische Bildung).
This was only possible through your support, which brought our artist garden among the best 50 projects (out of over 140!) in the online voting. In the end, a jury of seven prominent members (including the President of the Federal Centre Thomas Krüger, the writer Olga Grjasnowa, the author and journalist Jana Hensel, etc.) nominated "Das dritte Land" for the silver.
We are really very happy and would like to thank all those who have accompanied and supported our project from the very beginning.
We would like to quote briefly from the laudation:
"Das dritte Land (...) in the immediate vicinity of the Berlin Wall, where Germany was once divided and is now reunited, shows us the pain and absurdity of the division of this country (Korea). Not only the garden, but also the story of its creation is very interesting, as it has been practically impossible to bring together players from North and South Korea to create this garden together. Korea is still at the very beginning. The garden shows us how much we appreciate the unification of our country. It makes us clear that we have the unification and freedom which we wish very much for Korea (...)".
In fact, we Koreans are still in the beginning, but we hope to take the further step next year and exchange ideas with North Koreans about the plants in our garden and the botany of our homeland.
We are looking forward to spring 2021, which will bring many invitations to the Das dritte Land for you. That's a promise!
